The jaw joint is also known
as the temporomandibular joint or TMJ. TMJ dysfunction or disorder
is described as the pain in and around the jaw joint and nearby
muscles. It occurs when there is an imbalance in the relationship
of the jaw to the skull.

Signs
and symptoms include
- Facial pain
- Tension headaches/migraines
- Clicking or popping sounds in the jaw
joint
- Locking of the jaw joint when attempting
to open
- Neck, shoulder or back pain
- Swelling on the side of the face
- Worn or cracked teeth (bruxism or
clenching)

Ringing
in the ears or pain
- Possible decreased hearing, dizziness or
vision problems

- Tension Headache

- Joint Clicking
